What we collect

Wishlist owners: your email address (for signing in by emailed link, emailed code, or a passkey) and the wishlists and items you create. Gifters: you don't need an account. If you provide an email when claiming a gift, we use it only to send your confirmation link and reminders about that gift. Optional names you enter are never shown to the wishlist owner. Followers: if you follow a list, we store your email address only to send the daily note about newly added items, and we stop the moment you unfollow. List managers: a wishlist owner can invite someone by email to help manage a list. We store that address to deliver the invitation and show the owner who they've invited. Nothing happens unless the invitation is accepted (an ignored one expires on its own), and someone who accepts signs in with their own account and can add and edit that list's items.

Ships-to address (optional): a wishlist owner can add an address where gifts should be sent, for example a classroom. We show it only to gifters after they claim an item (on the claim confirmation page and in the confirmation email), never on the public wishlist page, and never to people invited to help manage the list. Remove the address in your list settings, or delete the list, and the address is gone.

Site analytics: we count page views to see which pages people find useful. This is done with a privacy-preserving analytics service that sets no cookies, builds no profile, and does not track you across other sites. We see aggregate totals (how many people opened a page, roughly where in the world, on what kind of device), never anything that identifies you. Pages reached from a link in an email, such as a claim confirmation, are excluded entirely.

What we never do

  • We never reveal to a wishlist owner, or to anyone helping manage a list, who claimed or bought a gift.
  • We never sell your personal information.
  • We never send marketing email to gifter addresses collected when someone claims a gift.

Affiliate links

Outbound "view in store" links may be converted to affiliate links, meaning we can earn a commission if you buy. This never changes the price you pay. We record anonymous click counts to understand what's popular. Those counts include a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address that can't be turned back into you.

Cookies

We use only functional cookies: keeping you signed in, remembering that you entered a wishlist's password, and keeping forms safe from tampering. No advertising trackers. A few features also remember things only in your browser, like a list you drafted before signing up and the wishlists you viewed recently. We don't keep that history on our side, and clearing your browser's site data clears it.

Data retention & deletion

Claims and their emails are kept while relevant to an active wishlist. To delete your account and data, reach us through the contact page and we'll process it within 30 days.
